Daisies on Kraft....STAMPlorations October 2017 CAS Card Challenge Reminder Post~Anything CAS Goes (optional twist: Orange)

The days are passing quickly and already, my wonderful teammates and I are back with a STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge #19 Reminder Post.  If you haven't joined us yet, you still have time to create something CAS, with or without the optional colour twist: orange.

Back in September, I enrolled in the monthly online colouring classes over at Kit and Clowder, where we're taught by incredibly talented, motivating, Alyce Keegan.  She is, in a word, amazing! One of the (many!) perks of joining when I did was access to several additional classes, one of which was colouring on kraft. I've done this before, with 'meh' results, so I let it be. After watching Alyce's video, though, inspiration was renewed...and here's the result...two of my favourite STAMPlorations flowered, prisma pencil coloured on kraft.

Trendy Feathers 1 (retired)

I'm amazed at how well kraft takes colour (when you sort of know what you're doing) and how wonderfully it blends.  Yes, I still have LOTS to learn and practice, but this is a good start - and I'm delighted to share it with you.

I also made a couple more cards...for fun and to practice masking panel strips using distress and oxide inks. Kind of straight-ish *grin*

Please head over to the main blog to see the incredible cards created by my wonderful team. You'll be dazzled and, I know, inspired to play along!  The guidelines are simple; the rewards for joining us, wonderful:
  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK.
  • Prizes: $10 GC for the winner; $5 GC to the top picks.
  • If there are 50 or more entries: 1 random winner of product of choice (3x5 stamp set OR 2 standard size stencils OR 1 CUTplorations word/phrase die)
Easy and so inviting!
Looking forward to seeing your CAS creations in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by; your visit is both welcomed and deeply appreciated!

Watercoloured Leaf Background Thanks....STAMPlorations CUTplorations Reminder Post

Hope you had a marvelous weekend!  Today, my lovely team and I are bringing you reminders about the  STAMPlorations CUTplorations October 2017 Challenge, where this wonderful image is our inspiration source.

My card focuses on the colours in the upper portion of Happy, with an Autumn Thanks card as the result.  This was easy to design: ink blended background, leaves stamped over using the same palette, and a rich, brown CUTplorations sentiment.  I love fall colours!

A marvelous new release over at Uniko Studios has been introduced and showcased - sensationally, I might add - by my wonderful teammates (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5).  Unfortunately (at least for me!), I didn't have an opportunity to play along, as my stamps are still in transit, somewhere between the UK, the ocean and the mountains and prairies! Once they do arrive, look out! I'll be doing one major catch-up!

Even though I'm new-release stamp-less, I'm excited to be part of the BIG Reveal, Release,Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY of this month's new stamp sets from Uniko!

As I mentioned, no new release yet for me, however, I'm joining the Hop with cards featuring two of my favourite Uniko Christmas/Winter sets:  Peace on Earth and Stunning Snowflakes.  On my first a flurry of clear embossed snowflakes frame the lovely dove...

and on the second, the laurel leaves take on the roll.  Two more cards for my Christmas stash...and I think I may be creating a few more using these products/designs.

Popping in quickly this Sunday morning, before heading to races, to share two cards made for Winnie & Walter's fabulous WCMD 2017! Thank you, Shay, for giving us a week to play!!

I've brought cake to the celebration! In fact 'layered' cakes...with one *on* layers so it's heading to the Lovely Layers Challenge with Keren.  Stenciling was also involved (a little bit of extra decorating *grin*), which means a trip over to the Stenciled Challenge with Kate.  Finally, both cards are the same, but different - off to the Variations Challenge with Shay.

Autumn Blessings...Tag, You're It Challenge #75

Do you have wonderful plans for the weekend? We do! We're off to see my mom and my darling niece and nephew. Added to the mix: officiating at a bike race on Saturday and cheering my husband on when he races Sunday. It will be a bit of a whirlwind trip...and a repeat of the same the following weekend (although then, I'll be an official at both races). Hoping the 'white stuff', gusty winds and cool temperatures hold off for a bit longer!

Okay, time to get going on what you're here for! Welcome to Tag, You're It! Challenge #75, where the team and I - and YOU - are drawing inspiration from the sweet Fall tag designed by Marcia Hill. Isn't that little girl darling!

 Guest Featured Artist
Marcia Hill

Our guest designer is Kim Heggins; her take on Marcia's tag is pure delight!

My wee fox from PTI's Stylized Autumn called to me in designing my tag, which draws inspiration from the single image, colours, clouds and Autumn sentiment from Marcia's.

Please be sure to head over to Tag, You're It! to see what Kim, and the rest of
my amazing team, have created. Afterwards, pull out your tags, stamps, inks and dies, and craft up a little gem to share in the gallery!

Looking forward to seeing your creative interpretations of Marcia's tag!

Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween...FUSION Card Challenge~Striped Wreath

It's definitely Fall here...and Winter has started whispering, too. We won't mention the 's' word just yet; rather, let's turn our thoughts to fun things that Autumn Halloween!

Welcome to FUSION Card Challenge~Striped Wreath, where we have an image with alllll sorts of entry points to inspire the multitude of cards/projects you're sure to bring to the gallery! Colours, stripes, wreaths, Halloween, the textured wall background - and, of course, that wonderful sketch! is an option, too!
My first card's photo has me in the Land of Grrrr! After 700 photos, I decided this was the best I could manage; that green background, in real life, is rather pretty (in a Halloween kind-of-way), as are my glitter-paper bat and cat, but what a challenge to photograph! Anyway, this is my translation of the sketch; wish it looked more spook-tacular here. It's kind of fun; a card that will likely go to one of my niece or nephew's teachers.

My second is photo-inspired (obviously *grin*) The skull isn't 'that' scary, given that the flame in his candle-eye is heart shaped. The multi-colour sentiment adds a simple pop of colour.

Please head over to the FUSION blog see the marvelous cards designed by my wonderful design team:

Halloween Tags (Batch 1)...Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #263~Holiday

Welcome to Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #263~Holiday!

Time to get those Christmas cards done...or not, as you'll see in my case *grin!

Yes, I know that Halloween is not, technically, a holiday, however, I have decided it is, so I hope you'll bear with me!  Today, I'm sharing the oodles of tags (inspired by Kim, from Joyful Creations with Kim) I created for my nephew's kindergarten class.  As compared to Kim's, mine are far more simplistic; I did try embossing the sentiments on a few, but the paper-warping and time-consuming nature of doing so became a bit much. Even so, they still took a while to make...but what a FUN while it was!

Here's a sample of five of the 25+,

followed by the gang...

and close-ups of a couple who were waving their ghostly little hands wildly, clamouring for attention...

Aren't those sentiments fun!  All products are from Taylored Expressions, except for the die used to cut the shapes.  Hope Mr. C's pals like them!  Oh...the little ghosts have been liberally sprinkled with glow-in-the-dark glitter (hard to see in the photo). They do glow...sort of *grin*

Now, to get after the second batch of Halloween 'somethings' for his class and then, turning my attention to my niece's Grade 2 class...

Please be sure to visit my teammates to see their amazing *real* Holiday-themed designs. You'll be delighted!

Looking forward to seeing you in the gallery!
